Containing over 30 step-by-step photos, this pattern is easy to follow and can be completed in a couple of hours. Choose your favorite colors to make your bird! Add accessories like a bow or flower to complete the look! Whatever you choose, I hope you enjoy making this crochet pattern!

This pattern was designed with Hobbii Yarns. While I used their Friends Cotton 8/4 (Level 1, Super Fine yarn) you can substitute with whatever yarn you’d like. Just be aware that I have not tested this pattern with other yarns and your project might turn out differently if not using the recommended materials.

Crochet Pattern Difficulty: Beginner

Pattern is written in English, with US crochet terminology.


Materials Needed

  • Hobbii Yarn- Friends Cotton 8/4 in the following colors: Icy Blue (76), Baby Blue (75), Mustard (28), Candyfloss (45), Nougat (09), and Tomato (40).
    For Penny, I used Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in the colors Light Purple (40) and Baby Purple (67)     
    Note- You’ll only need one skein of each color to complete the pattern.
  • Size C/2.75mm crochet hook
  • 8mm Plastic safety eyes 
  • Polyester fiberfill stuffing 
  • Stitch maker
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Straight pins

Finished Measurement
Melvin and Penny measures 5 inches tall (13cm) and 2.5 inches wide (7cm)
